Thank You!

Friends,

It has been an extraordinary year.

We waged an exceptional, positive, results oriented campaign. We broke fundraising records. We collected more signatures in lieu to qualify for the ballot than any other campaign in the City. Three small businesses – Bernie’s, Duboce Park Cafe, and Philz on 18th Street – are greener because of the Carrotmobs we organized. Four schools – Harvey Milk, Alvarado, James Lick and Everett – will benefit from fundraisers and e waste events that our campaign put together. Constituents who contacted our campaign had potholes fixed, trees planted, sidewalks repaved, poles removed, cleaner parks, and safer homes because of the service we provided to the residents of District 8.

Hundreds of people donated to the campaign. Thousands of calls were made. Doors were knocked upon. We launched the neighbor to neighbor, door to door campaign exactly how we envisioned it some 18 months ago.

I congratulate Scott Wiener on a great campaign, and look forward to working with him to better our City. The times do not call for egos, they call for collaboration. That’s what we campaigned on, and that is what I will do.

Thank you so much for all you have done this year. Have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to seeing you soon.
