I wanted you to be one of the first to know: my name will be on the ballot again in June 2016. Recently, I opened my committee to run for a seat on San Francisco’s Democratic County Central Committee [DCCC].
Over a year ago, Mary Jung appointed me to the Democratic Party’s local arm. While our main focus is to mobilize and energize voters, we also endorse Democratic candidates for public office and take positions on initiatives.
I’ve been honored to serve with the Committee as we’ve worked to draft resolutions to better align Democratic values with San Francisco values. Some of these policies include: supporting sustainable communities, strengthening our sanctuary City policies, eliminating the personal belief exemption for vaccinations, and reaffirming our commitment to 21st Century policing.
There is more work to be done. San Francisco is growing and changing, and I welcome the challenges and opportunities that come as a result. I deeply believe there is a way we can move forward together to work on solutions which will allow more people to call San Francisco home. That’s why we chose the forward button for my new logo because that’s the kind of leadership and thinking our City needs.
To prepare for the June election, I’ll need to raise money to communicate with the 17th Assembly District voters about why I am qualified to serve. Please join me for an event to support my candidacy:
WHERE: Martuni’s, 4 Valencia Street at Market, San Francisco
