What: Electronics Recycling at Everett Middle School, a neighborhood Middle School

Where: Everett Middle School, 450 Church Street (between 16th and 17th Street), San Francisco, CA

SAN FRANCISCO – Supervisor Candidate Rebecca Prozan is working to raise funds for strapped neighborhood schools in Noe Valley. Prozan, with current Supervisor Bevan Dufty and All Green Electronics Recycling, is sponsoring an e-waste recycling effort at Everett Middle School.

Neighborhood residents can bring any consumer electronic equipment that has reached its “end-of-life” or “end of usage,” whether in full or non-working condition. Proceeds of the refurbishment and sale of this equipment will benefit Everett Middle School.

Most electronics equipment can be accepted. This includes: Television sets, Computer Monitors, Computers, Keyboards, Laptops, Printers, Copiers, Scanners, Fax Machines, Servers, Main Frame Units, Networking Equipment, Systems, Printed Circuit Boards, Telephones, Cellular Phones, DVD Players, VCR’s, Radios, Microwave Ovens, Stereo/PC Speakers, and All Consumer Electronics. There is no limit to the number of items you may bring.

“The parents and teachers at Everett Middle School work hard everyday to create the best school environment for students. This event is one way that we as a community can give back to our schools while proactively saving our environment,” says Prozan.

Hundreds of pieces of equipment are expected to be received at Everett Middle School.

All Green Electronics Recycling is a full service electronics recycler and collector. All of the electronic products are recycled and processed within North America.

Rebecca Prozan Running Extremely Competitive Campaign
Despite Influx of Special Interest Money Benefiting Other District 8 Candidates

SAN FRANCISCO – The November elections are less than a month away and the race to replace termed out Supervisor Bevan Dufty is heating up. Independent candidate Rebecca Prozan is holding strong as a top fundraiser raising a total of $121,594 from individual donors. With public financing, Prozan has taken in a total of $161,360.

According to the Ethics Commission, the Individual Expenditure Ceiling for Prozan has been lifted from $143,000 to $183,000 due to special interest groups funneling tens of thousands of dollars into District 8.

Prozan remains competitive despite her opponents benefiting from special
interest money, proving that District 8 voters are independent thinkers who vote based on neighborhood issues.

“I have always said this race will be won block by block, neighbor to neighbor and not by outside groups trying to buy the election,” says Prozan. “Our campaign continues to prove that San Franciscans, especially District 8 voters, want a Supervisor who can rise above the political infighting in order to get things done.”

Public finance is designed to level the playing field and Prozan plans to continue fundraising and receiving the dollar-for-dollar match. With a donor base of 674 donors, of which 73% are San Francisco donors, Prozan has no doubt she will raise the money to remain competitive to put her over the top on November 2nd.

Prozan’s campaign has had a steady streak of sole endorsements from the Deputy Sheriff’s Association, San Francisco Women’s Political Committee, San Francisco Young Democrats, Carpenter’s Union Local 22, Chinese American Citizens Alliance, Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club and Westside Chinese Democratic Club.

District 8 is comprised of the following neighborhoods: Castro, Eureka Valley, Diamond Heights, Noe Valley, Glen Park, Valencia Corridor and Duboce Triangle.
